Character inspired by Viking Age Scandinavians. I start with some studies, to get a better understanding of some of the elements I want to include. After that, I begin with the sketches for the character.

Took the sketch I liked more and drew the final line art. I also added some ambient occlusion shadows, so that the character feels a bit more dynamic.

Next some very ruff colour tests. In most cases, I try 3-4 different ones and then choose the one I like most, while also taking some elements of the other versions if they fit better.

Finished the flat colours. I mostly stuck to the ones from the first test, but changed some colours around and added a bit more detail, for a more cohesive image.
